The purpose of the 5th UCC Biomedical and Clinical Student/Resident Research Symposium was to present the research conducted by students from the different academic programs (Biomedical Sciences, Chiropractic, Medical Imaging, and Medicine) to the entire university community.
We had one speaker, Dr. Enid J. García, Director of the Endowed Health Services Research Center and the Office of Clinical and Community Health Research at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, whose presentation was titled “Navigating non-traditional pathways in research.” A total of 90 abstracts were received. There were 74 poster presentations and 5 oral presentations (for the best abstracts). Cash prizes were awarded for the three best poster presentations across the following research areas: basic sciences, clinical and translational research, and public health. The symposium was offered on April 9, 2026, at Terra Campestre Convention Center in Guaynabo, PR, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. One hundred ninety-four (194) individuals participated this year.
